Johnny Artis Band -R&B, Rock, Reggae
The Johnny Artis Band is well known in the Mid Atlantic region for their fun loving brand of R&B and Rock & Roll. They have been entertaining audiences with their current lineup for years, showing the professionalism and expertise that only comes from the experience of working together to provide the best entertainment possible. Johnny brings everything together with his engaging stage presence, establishing a comfortable rapport with any audience, and keeping them entertained without exception.
Johnny Artis was born and raised in Caroline County, Virginia. It was here he was first introduced to the sounds of gospel music that rang strong in his family. At the age of 10, he moved to his present home of Alexandria, VA. Johnny worked as a chef who received rave reviews and who excelled in the restaurant business until the age of 28. It was after the death of his mother that he decided to lay down his apron and devote himself to his (and his mother's) first love, performing. He formed a band known as Johnny Tenspot and Loose Change, and it was here that Johnny honed the skills that would serve him as a performer. Over the years, Johnny Tenspot and Loose Change evolved into The Johnny Artis Band, and in the process created a name and reputation for good music and a great show. Johnny has overcome many obstacles in his life and it seems to have given him the ability to take a song and fill it with emotion, putting it in the audience's heart and making them feel it from head to toe.
With the upcoming release of his new CD "Live Versatility" coming on the heels of his successful release "3 Down Now", and more projects waiting in the wings, Johnny's talents seem to have no limits. The Johnny Artis Band continues to produce Classic Rock and Roll and High Energy Rhythm and Blues thanks in no small part to its cast of talented members, including Jeff Bean (Keyboards), Lee Dodson (Bass), Sean Camp (Guitars), Frankie Addison (Sax), Sean Peck (Drums), and, of course, Johnny himself. These professionals definitely provide a musical combination of electrifying chemistry that produces an intense ride that no one should miss.

Description:
www.Some sharp funny, charming and devilishly catchy ukelelism. Ukelilli's up there with the two Georges (Formby and Harrison) for championing the diminutive guitar and I thoroughly recommend her." (Simon Pegg, star and co-writer of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, "Scotty" from Star Trek)
Ukelilli is a singer-songwriter with a comedy/folk/pop sensibility, hailing from the D.C. suburb of Chevy Chase (no relation). Now living in Los Angeles, Ukelilli has been building a passionate cult following thanks to her adorable persona and quirky repertoire of songs. At a Ukelilli show you're likely to hear everything from a punk ukulele anthem, to an ode to the films of Jean-Claude Van Damme, to a twisted loved song called "I Love You So Much (I'd Prefer It If You Were Not Dead)."
Ukelilli has recorded 7 albums, 4 of which are currently available for sale through iTunes, CDBaby, and at stores all over LA, including the famed Ameoba Music. Since 2006, she has sold more than 6,000 tracks online. Her music video, "Vote for Obama," was a YouTube viral hit in the last election. (Obama has so far declined to comment on Ukelilli, but Washington scuttlebutt has it he's a fan.)
She has played in clubs all over LA, including a standing monthly gig at El Cid, one of the coolest venues in Silverlake, and was a special guest of The Ukulady on the Hippodrome Shuttle, which tours Downtown ArtWalk LA.
Her music has been featured on the soundtrack of a Zappos commercial, the international festival-winning short film Cracks, indie feature Natural Victims, and the "Intern Journal" on The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou DVD.
Ukelilli has an international fanbase and has been invited to play at Ukelear Meltdown, England's largest ukulele festival, in February 2010.
